Nigeria - JTF Arrests 90 Suspected Boko Haram Members In Northern City

The Nigerian Joint Task Force (JTF) in Yobe State has moved 90 suspected members of the Boko Haram sect in the state to Abuja.
The 90 were part of the 169 suspected members of the sect that were initially arrested in Damaturu, the state capital, out of which 79 were cleared after a thorough screening.
This is coming even as the Yobe State government imposed 24-hour-curfew on the state.
It was gathered that the 90 suspects were transferred to Abuja for further investigations.
Meanwhile, the curfew in the state started at 10p.m. yesterday as all entrances and exit roads to the state were cordoned off by security men.
Also, at about 4a.m. on Saturday, the JTF operation in Maiduguri, Borno State, Operation Restore Order, based on intelligence, conducted simultaneous cordon and search operation in some areas of the Maiduguri metropolis.
The operation conducted at Dala area of the city resulted into a massive recovery of arms, ammunition and IED hidden in an underground in a house.
Also, three unidentified Boko Haram members were arrested while four of the Boko Haram members were killed in Gombaru area of Maiduguri.
Details of the recovered items, as given by the JTF, were two AK-47 riffles, one rocket propelled grenade tube, three rocket propelled grenade chargers, three G3 rifles, one smoke pistol, one FNC riffle, four pump action machine gun, two locally made pistols,, three tear-gars lunchers, 34 tear-gas canisters, three tear-gas grenade, 1.5m detonating cord, one IED cylinder, magazines of FNC riffle, 22 assorted ammunition, 12 assorted empty magazine, 1045 assorted ammunition and 12 GSM handsets.
Others included four riffle cleaning kits, one laptop and two hand-held metal detectors, one fragment jacket, eight magazine holders, 100 litres of drum containing fertilizer and six pieces of 25-litre jerrycans containing incendiary materials.
The JTF thanked members of the public who gave useful information that contributed to the success of the operation.
