Nigeria's second largest airline, Aero Contractors, resumed flight operations Friday following a prolonged strike embarked upon by its workers, during which it was also grounded by the regulatory Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).
'Aero is back, flight starts from 29th March,' said a one-line statement on the airline's official website.
Workers of the airline were seen at the domestic wing of the Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal 2 attending to intending passengers.
Aero had suspended its operations two weeks ago following the strike, but when it was about to resume operations, NCAA grounded the airline, apparently because the issues that led to the strike had not been resolved.
The resumption of operations by Aero will provide a big relief for passengers, many of whom have had to spend long hours at the airport, especially during the current Easter holidays.
