Nigeria - 3 Dead As Boko Haram Attack Police Patrol Van In Kano

Three persons have been killed while several police officers were injured in a gun duel that occurred after an explosion that ambushed a police patrol van at Panshekara Sabon Titi in Kumbotso local government area of Kano state, North West Nigeria.
Eyewitness told reporters that a police van was dropping officers at their duty post when it was ambushed.
The police ran for their lives amidst gun shots at the police vehicle which was targeted by explosives and in the process stray bullets hit some civilians, killing three persons as claimed by one of the witnesses.
Confirming the incident, the state Police Commissioner, Musa Daura, said police officers on routine duty along Sabon Titi by Madobi road in Panshekara were ambushed during which three civilians were injured by stray bullets.
The Commissioner disclosed that no police officer was killed or injured during the attack.
The area has been cordoned off while a search operation is currently going on in the area.
Meanwhile, the Ohaneze Ndi Igbo in Kano state has declared three days of mourning for victims of Monday’s luxurious bus park bombing.
Over 70 lives were claimed in the suicide bomb attack on the park.
