Nigeria - 7 Boko Haram Members Arrested, Bomb Factories Uncovered

Seven suspected members of the Islamic Boko Haram members were arrested by the Joint Task Force who also discovered two bomb-making factories in Kano, northwest Nigeria.
The operations carried out in Farawa and Sheka areas, both flashpoints of terrorism in the state followed information on the activities of the sect members.
According to the spokesman of JTF, Captain Ikedichi Iweha, no life was lost during the raids that were carried out at dawn.
Dangerous weapons were also found during the raid include AK 47 rifles, 46 explosives of different calibres as well as bomb making materials.
JTF also demolished a building identified as hideout of the Islamic militants, while four women believed to be the wives of some of the suspects were rescued.
Other items found in the enclave include communication gadgets—32 Motorola phones and 52 phone batteries, wires for priming suicide vehicles and a number of laptops.
Captain Iweha said two bomb factories were demolished after the explosives found in them were evacuated, adding that the raids were part of JTF’s routine assignment to free Kano from the grip of terrorists.
He said the Military led Task Force would continue to intensify their raids as part of the measures to track down suspected Boko Haram members who have been terrorizing innocent citizens of Kano State.
He recalled the success of the house to house search initiated by the security team, which to him is suffocating the terrorists and believe that the war against terrorists in the state is been won by men of the JTF.
