70 Boko Haram Islamists Killed As Vigilante Youths Join Nigeria Military Offensive In Maiduguri

At least 70 Boko Haram members have been killed in within one week in separate  locations in Maiduguri, Borno State Capital, a Senior Security official revealed local reporters.
This is happening at time when a group of youth are volunteering to assist the Military in the  ongoing military actions in Borno State  captured and handed over 30 suspected Boko Haram members.

The youths were allegedly trained by a renowned local hunter who also administered them with some concoctions to prevent them from danger.

Chairman of the Volunteer group Abubakar Malum told reporters during an  interview that over 30 suspected Boko Haram members have since been handed over to the Military.

“Since the declaration of State of Emergency in Borno State, we have captured over 30 Boko Haram suspects and handed them over to the military.

We were moved to take this decision because these  people (Boko Haram) have killed our  Fathers , Mothers , Sisters and Brothers.

”We also sort the cooperation of the military to ensure we carry out this assignment. 

Some of us had taken steps to reveal the identity of Boko Haram members in the past; we had fear for our dear lives but now we don’t care if we die along the way, we only want to assist end the Boko Haram Crises in Borno State.

“As we speak we captured two boko Haram suspects today and we have handed then to the Military. 

We know most of them living in our neighbourhood and we will continue to hunt them (Boko Haram)

AE gathered that about 8 Boko Haram members were said to have been shot dead in the last one week by the JTF.

The suspects who  were said to have been handed over to the JTF by a youth group had  attempted to flee from JTF custody before the were shot dead.

Everyday, members of the Boko Haram Sect are being captured as soldiers and residents continue to build a cordial relationship.
