Kate Middleton To Return To Royal Duties Just 52 Days After Prince George's Birth

The Duchess of Cambridge is set to return to royal duties just 52 days after the birth of son George.
Kate and Prince William will have to leave their son with a baby-sitter while they are guests of honour at an awards ceremony for a British charity which funds conservation projects in Africa.

Wills is patron of the Tusk Trust and has visited many of their projects in Africa.

Wife Kate is on maternity leave but will join Wills for the charity's inaugural awards ceremony to honour unsung conservation heroes.

Kensington Palace today confirmed Kate will attend the event on September 12.

A Palace spokesman said: "It is a long standing engagement."

It is likely Kate's mum Carole Middleton will look after George while the royal couple attend the bash.

Kate spent nearly a month living at her parents home in Bucklebury, Berkshire, after George was born.

Husband Wills has given his first interview since the birth of his son who is third in line to the throne.

The interview will form part of a one-hour CNN documentary called Prince William's Passion: New Father, New Hope which will be screened on ITV on September 15 at 10pm.

Wills talks about how becoming a dad has changed him forever.

Prince William also speaks about his conservation work and hopes that son George will continue his work and enjoy Africa in the same way he and Prince Harry did as young boys.

The brothers visited Africa with their parents as children.

Wills' concern for endangered species was passed onto him by his dad Prince Charles and late mum Princess Diana.
