Nigerian Governors Of Jigawa, Niger And Gombe Set To Dump Ruling PDP For Opposition APC

Nigeria's ruling  Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) may lose more governors on its platform to the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC).
It was gathered that two of the governors are from the North west (Sule Lamido, Ibrahim Dankwambo) and the third from the North central (Babangida Aliyu).

Indication of the expected development emerged at the weekend, after a meeting of stakeholders in Yola, the Adamawa State capital.

Those leading the canvass for more members in Adamawa include former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, Buba Marwa, Marcus Gundiri and Boss Mustapha.

Sources say the chieftains are already holding meetings with influential PDP members, some associates of former national chairman of the PDP, Bamanga Tukur, among others.

Already, Governors Rabiu Kwankwaso (Kano), Aliyu Wamakko (Sokoto), Murtala Nyako (Adamawa), Ahmed Fatha (Kwara) and Rotimi Amaechi (Rivers), a number of PDP federal and state legislators have crossed to the APC.

But the new national chairman, Adamu Muazu, after his inauguration, promised to bring back former aggrieved members of the party that left.

While admitting that some issues caused the defection of many, he stated that efforts will be doubled to ensure their return.
