Kobe Bryant’s Parents Apologize To Him For Trying To Sell His Memorabilia

Kobe Bryant has it all. The hot Mexican wife who’s stuck by his side through thick and thin, the third spot in this year’s Forbes Highest-Paid Athletes list, and of course the title as player-coach for the Los Angeles Lakers.
But as we all know, not everything is always as it seems. Recent controversy began to swirl around the Bryant family when it was reported that Kobe’s mother, Pamela Bryant, sold a good chunk of his memorabilia to an auction house.
This slammed the superstar and he immediately filed a lawsuit. That’s not a very mama’s boy thing to do.
Things have been getting ugly between the two as there was a good war of words going back and forth via the media. However, if one thing is for certain, it’s that she was most definitely selling his sh*t.
Kobe’s father, Joe Bryant, did right thing and defended his wife. While it is very strange for them to be selling off his personal items, they pretty much have parental right to do whatever they please with his belongings that he leaves behind.
Things were really getting out of hand until this week, when the family settled the case. They somehow worked out a deal to keep the items in the auction house and let mama Bryant keep her money. I don’t know how that worked out, but apparently everybody wins.
What’s even better is that Kobe’s parents issued an apology to him for this whole messy situation. What kind of world is this? A place where parents are issuing public amends to their child.
”We regret our actions and statements related to the Kobe Bryant auction memorabilia,” Joe and Pamela Bryant said in the statement provided by a publicist. “We apologize for any misunderstanding and unintended pain we have caused our son and appreciate the financial support he has provided over the years. We also apologize to Goldin Auctions for their inadvertent involvement in this matter and thank them for their assistance.”
Ain’t that some sh*t.
